Safeguarding
The Safety and wellbeing of our Club members is of primary importance and ensuring we abide by any Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies is fundamental to this. Bowmen of Harrow Safeguarding Rules and Procedures (Document Coming Soon) Safeguarding is the proactive policies and procedures to prevent children and young or vulnerable adults coming to harm. At Bowmen of Harrow we are fully committed to and adopt Archery GB’s Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults policies. These provide guidance to ensure proactive and effective protection for children and young or vulnerable adults by:
- Prioritising their welfare
- Creating and maintaining the ‘safest possible’ environment for them
- Taking all reasonable steps to promote safe practices and protection from harm, abuse or exploitation
- Promoting a culture which embraces diversity and respects their rights
We all have a responsibility to act if we are in any way concerned for another’s wellbeing. This should be done even if an incident occurs outside of Bowmen of Harrow’s environment. More importantly, never dismiss what a child, young or vulnerable adult tells you as lies or exaggeration – the worst thing you can do is ignore it!
